I need help on finding laser printers, so I am appealing to all you nice
folks out on the net.
My department is looking for a good laser printer to serve as the output device
for text processing programs. It looks like *I* am going to be the one
who has to make sure we get a decent one. We just got TeX, and hope to get
Ditroff in a few months (when we upgrade our System V license). If you have
a laser printer, serving as the output device for either system, please,
PLEASE, take the time to mail me the answers to the following questions.
1) Brand information: Who makes it?
What did it cost?
Name and address of supplier
2) Are you using Ditroff, TeX, or both?
3) Where did you get the output filters for it for your program?
4) What kind of quality output does it produce? Are you satisfied
with it? Complaints, problems, etc.
5) How long did delivery take after the order was placed?
6) What kind of hardware (Vax, pdp, etc), do you have, and how did
you hook your laser printer into it?
Please answer as many questions as you can, but don't refrain from replying
just because you can't answer all the questions.
I will summarize to the net if there is enough interest. Thanks in
advance, I really appreciate this.
