[net.text] "Dvisun," a Sun-based TeX previewer

riddle@ut-sally.UUCP (09/05/84)

A number of you responded to my query about sun-based troff previewers by
asking about the TeX previewer, "dvisun". We got dvisun from Washington
via ftp over the Arpanet. For more information contact Rick Furuta
(furuta@washington.ARPA).

If you don't have Arpanet access, let me know and we'll look into getting
the files to you via UUCP.

By the way, Rick says that the people at Berkeley have spiffed up dvisun
recently, modifying it to run under the Sun windows package among other
things. Let Rick know that you're interested and he'll send you an
announcement when the new version is ready.

dvisun is on the Unix TeX distribution tape, for those of you who got one
recently. Look in ./tex82/=utils/dvisun. The version that is there doesn't
use the window package and runs under revisions 1.0 and 1.1 of the Sun
software. We're just now wrapping up arrangements with Berkeley about
getting copies of their revisions and I expect that we'll be able to make
the window-ed version available soon. This one requires revision 1.1 of the
Sun software (and hardware).
