I am asking this in the hope that something more user-friendly than
nroff can be found. Does anybody in Netland have definitive
information about Scribe, things like pricing, possibility of
institution-wide licences, experiences with using it? Any
comments you like to make?
In the same vein, I understand that TeX is available to 4.x BSD
licensed sites for the cost of distribution. How does this compare with
nroff in ease of use? Any comments you might like to make?
What, if any, is the preferred text formatter for journals that accept
machine-readable copy?
Apologies if any of this information requested has been posted before -
I can't find archives going sufficiently far back. If there is
sufficient interest, I will post to the net. Thanks in advance.
