I use the -ms macro package with nroff/troff. I've been trying to use floating keeps (.KF, .KE) to get a display in the middle of a paragraph. The keep always causes a break -- and I don't want one, it looks funny. Example of the problem: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah (display) blah blah blah.... I want the "blahs" to fill to the end of the line before the display is printed. Instead, the display prints right after the last "blah" before the ".KF". (I don't know what happens when the keep actually floats to a different place. The fact that the keep CAN float means that there is nothing "special" about the location where the break occurs, which is why I find this behavior pretty weird.) Does anyone know how to make a floating display that doesn't cause a break? I'd appreciate hints or work-arounds for this problem.
