[net.text] commercial typesetting of troff

lee@rochester.UUCP (Lee Moore) (04/19/85)

I seem to remember some time ago that a person requested the
name(s) of places that will take a tape of troff output and
typeset it for a fee. I just ran across a scrap of paper
that is about two years old with the following name and number:
	Tech Type & Comp.
	(503) 371-8655
I seem to remember that this guy owns several Graphics Systems
C/A/T typesetters and would run customers tapes through it.
He had two modes of running:
	1) you send him your troff source and he troffs it
and then prints it. (more expensive)
	2) you send him the output codes of troff -t and he
feeds it directly to the typesetter (cheaper)
There also was some warning that BSD troffs had been modified
so that they printed lots of blank pages and needed to be changed
back if one didn't want to incur extra expense using mode 2.

If one want to buy a re-conditioned C/A/T typesetter, one can also
try at:
	C. D. Curtis, Inc.
	95 Darling Ave.
	South Portland, ME 04106
	(207) 773-0706
