Are there any printed music fonts available, as part of a ms, mm or me text formatting package? If so, are they in the public domain and can someone send me their locations? If not, how would I generate printed music? What do the fonts look like? Basically, what I want to do is something like eqn does, when I give the program a file containing a sequence of note specifications (a note spec can look like <note> <position relative to middle c> <duration>) it will output the printed music in a specified key on the standard staff. I don't remember what the syntax of the BBN Bitgraph music compiler was, but the syntax would be similar. I'd like to also be able to generate rests, tempo classifications (andante, allegro, etc.), volume levels (pp, p, f, etc.), keywords (D.C., D.S., Fine, etc.). There are probably other things that go into printed music, like the words to music, which I'd like to generate also, that I've forgotten. I'll summarize to the net, of course. -- ... hey, we've gotta get out of this place, there's got to be something better than this ...
