I might soon be interested in purchasing a TeX-capable laser printer for a university department. I would like to ask for information about such devices (manufacturer, resolution, price, your experience etc.). In particular, the printer must be able to interpret TeX's DVI file format, preferrably supported by the manufacturer. A simple protocol conversion would also be ok (e.g. DVI -> PostScript), but it would be unacceptable to ship bitmaps from the host. The printer must also be capable of handling the many fonts that TeX uses (40 or more). Please mail me and I'll summarize to the net. -- Oliver Schoett Department of Computer Science, University of Edinburgh, The King's Buildings (JCMB), mcvax!ukc!hwcs!cstvax!os Mayfield Road, Edinburgh EH9 3JZ, Great Britain
