[net.text] using tbl program for crt terminals

Recently I was struggling to make a boxed table come out right on a 
crt and/or simple matrix printer with the tbl(1) program.  It seems
that tbl tries to back up the paper and draw the box after printing
the text unless the following command line is used.  (I wonder why 
it was not designed to print the box at the same time as the text.)
These are the two solutions that worked for me:
     1.  tbl file | nroff -ms | colcrt
     2.  tbl -TX file | nroff -ms | col
