I was impressed by the response to this request that indicates the poll being taken has poorly worded questions, or may even be "loaded questions". It reminds me of a survey taken in Nashua, NH, by an 'independent' Survey Group. The survey asked all manner of questions about where a city subsidized bus company should put its routes, and how much should be charged for both special interest groups (low income/aged/students), and the frequency of the schedule. When the results appeared in the Local Newspaper (circulation about 75,000), the "results" of the survey showed conclusively that all the people polled were in favor of the city subsidized bus lines, and the only argument was how much subsidy, and the routes. <<EMPHASIS MINE>> *NO WHERE* in the survey was the question: "SHould the city subsidize a bus company ?", or any other question relating to whether or not the city should in any manner have a subsidized bus line. Fortunately for us, we had some pretty sharp female selectman who also notd this disparity in the survey taken, and even went so far as to recommend NOT PAYING the pollsters for doing a bad job poorly ! If it weren't for these dedicated, intelligent, logical minded people, with a knack for watchdogging the *BUSINESSMEN* minded "other" selectman the city would've been hoodwinked into getting a badly needed, but unwanted public supported bus company ! bob early (Dec E-Net) TONTO::EARLY) (UUCP) decvax!decwrl!dec-rhea!tonto!early
