Our department (Civil Engineering) is looking at technical word processors and is considering DEC's product known as WPS+. DEC is advertising this as a scientific/technical WYSIWYG text processing system. I have not seen the system and, apparently, no other department here has the system in place. I am wondering if people with first-hand experience could take a few minutes and mail me some reports about there experience with it. The particulars are as follows: 1) we want to run the system from a Microvax, 2) the department plans to have secretaries using the system (up to 9--but not all at the same time), 3) the Microvax will be on an ethernet so that other users can remote login, 4) it must be able to do mathematics, 5) the other systems in the department are UNIX (4.2 and ULTRIX) or IBM (PC's and a 4341), 6) we ain't real advanced in the area of office automation, I am a new reader of this news group, so I apologize if this product has already been discussed in detail. I appreciate any information you can give me--you know how hard these decisions are. Thanks
