[net.text] Berkely Fonts on Adobe Transcript

dat@chinet.UUCP (Dick Tusia) (04/11/86)

Does anybody know how I could use the Berkeley Font Catalog with
Adobes Transcript package. Also has anybody ever converted the
Berkely Font Catalog to PostScript compatible font info.
It seems as if Adobe only lets you use the Times and Helvetica
fonts with ptroff. Thanks in advance.

After seeing the "herps" program for turning the Hershey fonts
into PostScript fonts, I feel inspired to try doing the same
for vfonts; this would have to generate the .afm font metric
file as well, then it could be used with ditroff (there is
little or no chance of doing it for use with troff because
there are too many wired-in assumptions...).

Now where did I put that PostScript CookBook?....
