A friend of mine is starting a small business, doing word processing of reports, papers, resumes, etc. There will often be a need to include things like pie charts in the reports. A system is needed in the $15k to $25k price range that will do all the jobs needed by the business (accounting, perhaps payroll, etc.) as well as the word processing itself. I am looking for suggestions for hardware/software combinations to meet these requirements. Suggestions re: which computer to use, which operating system to use, what peripherals to buy, (how much storage), and so on, would be really appreciated! One last requirement is that the software not be too difficult to use, since the business hopes eventually to get involved in career rehabilitation work and hire people from broken homes, etc. This rules out typesetting systems like TeX... Lastly, I don't subscribe to either of these two newsgroups, so I would appreciate it if replies were mailed directly to me. Thanks for any help... -- Joe Morrison VLSI Group University of Waterloo {decvax,allegra,ihnp4}!watmath!watvlsi!joe -- "The first fifteen million years -- they were the worst..." -- Joe Morrison VLSI Group University of Waterloo {decvax,allegra,ihnp4}!watmath!watvlsi!joe -- "The first fifteen million years -- they were the worst..."
