Being a degenerate mathematician , I like to denote vectors by writing the arrow *under* the variable. Underlining is unacceptable as (1) underlines of succesive variable run together and (2) different notations are needed for vectors,matrices,.... Clearly, the LaTeX \vector command puts it above. Using the \stackrel (\mathrel and its friends for TeX people) command won't do as it makes the thing put on top "subscript-sized". Does anyone have a nifty macro do this or suggestions as to how to create one without breaking all my equations. Thanks in Advance Andrew Reibman ar@duke
