[net.text] DCA <--> troff Conversion Utility

dml@rabbit1.UUCP (David Langdon) (10/16/86)

Our posting facility has been up and down, so I am posting this request
again:

We have a desire to print host (IBM, etc) generated douments via troff
and store troff documents on a host system using DIA/LU6.2 transfer
between our local machine and the host computer. Has anyone out there
noticed, seen, used or heard of any conversion utility programs that
convert between IBM's DCA (revisable form or final form text) and troff
format documents? Your help is greatly appreciated.

i have a 1st pass of such a converter, it deals with the basic conversion,
( including the "underline last word" command - a pain! ) it does parse
all documented DCA commands but for (too) many just skips the correct number
of bytes & continues.

if there is a call, i'll post it. otherwise i'll send copies to people
who agree to extend it & keep me up to date with the changes.
