1969 Alfa Romeo Duetto
Excellent mechanical condition:(a real stormer, outperforms all of the
later models I've driven)
Soft top replaced last year.
Currently fuel injected:(with the 1750 motor, it has the best low end
torque and most pleasing motor sounds)
But I'm also including a set of the European Dual Webers
jetted for the 1750 motor (I've kept them around because
of all the horror stories about Alfa's fuel injection--
all unfounded in my experience
I've owned the car for 5 years. It has required little maintenance
(after a thorough going over when I first bought it) and given
immense pleasure.
The body has parking lot dents on three sides. I haven't gotten them
fixed since one worries that a new paint job is hiding more serious
things. I bought the car in West Texas
five years ago. Drove it in CA for a couple of years and brought
it East. It was never used in the winter here.
The dash has a heat crack.
Amazingly, the car is approaching 100K miles (somewhere in the mid
90's). The compression is perfect, all cylinders are between
165 and 175. To my knowledge, THE HEAD HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED.
I bought the car at 55K and I sure haven't. I was told that it
wasn't before.
Offered to a good home at $1000/firm (The webers and some other spares
are worth nearly half that.
