[btl.unix] Command Usage on UNIX

ijf@mhtsa.UUCP (08/17/83)

Thanks to those of you who have sent me their systems' command usage
statistics. I am reposting this message because I still need help
from all you wizards out there who haven't yet responded to my request.
It should only take a minute. Thanks for your help.

We are collecting data on typical command usage on UNIX systems.
So if you are running UNIX, we would like to hear from you - especially
those of you in the academic community. We would greatly appreciate it
if you can send us statistics on the top 30 commands used at your
installation. You can extract them easily using the following commands:

Bell Labs UNIX 5.0:
/usr/lib/acct/acctcms -a -s -c /usr/adm/acct/sum/cms | sed -e 36,\$d

Berkeley UNIX 4.1:
/etc/sa -lc | head -31

Please send the information to mhtsa!ijf. For systems that do not have a
direct path to mhtsa, please route them via allegra or eagle (for BTL
sites) or ucbvax (non-BTL sites).
If appropriate, please also include a short description of your system
configuration and primary applications. Your help is greatly appreciated.
