We have recently experienced the pleasure of having the power company's primary cross our into-the-house 110V service. Pop goes the weasel. I can clearly identify the equipment that is DOA, including a VCR, microwave, TV, garage door opener, furnace, lotsa lightbulbs and plugs, etc... But what I cannot assess is the damage done to the otherwise seem to work fine appliances, like the fridge, washer and dryer, stereo, etc^2... I'd like to understand the affects of what happened. I feel that the long term impact may be that most of the equipment has aged greatly, though it still works now. I also fear that repair of the items cannot restore them to their previously healthy condition. Could someone help me here? I may need defendable proof of (potential) damage so that the insurance company will authorize repair / replacement. So I'm also looking for information that will document the need for inspections / repairs / replacements. I've discussed the matter with liscensed electricians, most of whom would have expected a much greater DOA count. Please send me mail, as I don't read the news much (at least they think I don't). US Mail is welcome: Thanx, Brian Batson 18341 SW Heather Ann Ct. Lake Oswego, OR. 97034 -- Brian e.
