My husband and I are planning a trip to Traverse City, Michigan, in October. We need to find out about places to stay (inexpensive) and the best route to drive there. I have driven there on Routes 31 and 94 but would appreciate any other information that anyone could give me that would be both time-saving and scenic. I know that there are a lot of small cabin-type motels in Traverse City but I am not sure of their names. I would appreciate knowing of some recommended places and also of a telephone number to call.
