I've got a friend with the ROLAND MIDI interface to an IBM PC. The computer dependent part that goes in the PC only seems to have about three chips on it, so I don't suppose making one for even a micro that they don't support would be much of a problem. The documentation on the interface isn't that bad. The MIDI box itself has a 68XX in it to handle real time playback and recording, but you can by pass that. The interface between the MIDI box and the computer, although on a DB-25, is not RS-232, nor is it serial at all. The problem with RS-232 <-> MIDI is that the midi runs at a rather bizarre speed as far as terminals are concerned. -Ron
