I have had a number of replies about fast RSA. By far the fastest code around for the IBM PC may not be on the market tho. It was written by Amos Fiat at the Weizmann Institute in Israel. The package is called "CryptoCom", and it can perform a 160-decimal-digit decryption in less than 10 seconds. That is several times faster than the next fastest that I know of.

At the Crypto'85 conference (UCSB) in August, I picked up a spec sheet describing "CryptoCom", the RSA software package which can apparently do 154-decimal-digit RSA decryption in less than 10 seconds (on an IBM PC). I have no idea who Amos Fiat is, or the Weizmann Institute of Israel, but the spec sheet said that further information could be obtained by contacting Algorithmic Research Ltd. 612 North Michigan Avenue Chicago,Illinois 60611 312.664.1735 I assume the software is being marketed through someone in Chicago.
