A while ago a note mentioned that Bell Atlantic was offering a
secure-speech accessory for cellular telephones in the Washington D.C.
area. Can someone followup with some details, rumors, etc?

6. Maybe this should have come first-- is this just the
NSA LCSV (lowcost secure voice) terminal, arriving early
in the market? (Or I should add, preannounced to preempt
the market?)

Thanks for any info.

It seems that it would not be the STU-III class (which I believe is the
same program that will bring us LCSV in early [I'll take bids on mid]-1987).
It could, however, just be a pre-announcement, like AT&T and Motorola did with
Future Secure Voice System (FSVS).
But I really doubt that anything that is an 'accessory' would be suitable
for even UNS-R security, unless it is something that is factory or field-
service installed.
