[net.misc] You get to name Burroughs + Sperry!

devine@vianet.UUCP (Bob Devine) (08/15/86)

Burroughs Corp. is offering to pay $5,000 to the creator of a
name of the new company formed by the merger of it and Sperry.
Unfortunately, you have to be an employee of Burroughs.

But don't let that stop you. Send me your suggestion(s) and I
will forward them on to someone who does work there if I think it
has a chance in winning. We'll argue over who gets the money later :-).

Burroughs' Rules:
  1. It has to be "great and memorable".
  2. It can't be obscene/vulgar/insulting in any of the 100+ countries
     that the company does business.

My only rule:
  1. << IMPORTANT >> Don't post followups to the net! I'll summarize late.

That's it. However, to stop duplicate names here are some obvious
ones that probably won't work -- so don't send them to me!
  - BS Corp. (probably too late to claim this entry :-)
  - ABS, No-BS, and XBS Corp. (ditto. See-BS is entirely different :-)
  - Berries or Spurroughs or any other blends
  - Blumenthal Computers would probably only get 1 vote for being "great"
  - We're Number Two Corp. is too correct
  - Roy G Bup, Up Yours, and other cute but desperate attempts to use the
    letters from the names.
