[net.movies.sw] Is there significance behind the color of light sabre "blades"?

In the 3 movies, I have noticed 3 different light sabre colors.
Obi Wan's and Anakin's light sabres were blue, Vader's was red, and (in RoTJ)
Lukes new one was green.  Is there any real meaning behind the colors?
