From: Eric P. Scott <EPS@JPL-VLSI.ARPA> ...the silly business of the little girl turning all sparkly and reversing the blow-up of the mother ship... Firestopper! The obvious lead-in for a possible sequel, with Diana taking off in the shuttle craft (shades of Darth Vader in his fighter at the end of SW - ANH!) was just too "cute" for words... We should be so lucky. NBC recently announced their fall lineup (guess what's going to be a regular series?). Are there that few "aliens invade Earth" plots, or am I just suffering from a bad case of deja vu? "Technologically advanced aliens arrive, claim to be our friends, set up an `exchange program,' really want humans for munchies" (=> Twilight Zone "To Serve Man") "Reptilian aliens wear body suits to pass for human, hybrid daughter uses strange powers at the end" (=> "Strange Invaders") etc. Anyone else take to referring to Robin's daughter as "Lizard Breath?" V would lend itself well to a MAD-style treatment... "I couldn't help but noticing that you have `ring around the collar.'" Pickles and mousies... -=EPS=- ------

[the're coming to take me away, ha, ha] This may seem a silly question, but WHAT IS STUFF ABOUT *V* DOING IN NET.MOVIES.SW!?!? {BTL}!charm!mam

I believe that the "V" items in net.movies.sw are being fed from the sf-lovers digest on the Arpanet. I'm not sure how, though. "net.movies.sw" feeds into that Digest for StarWars discussion distribution, and net.sf-lovers also feeds it, but I thought that all the other-direction feeds (ARPA to USENET) went into net.sf-lovers. Maybe a wizard can explain the details... Will
