Before we shut down this newsgroup for a while, does anyone know anything about the *official*, *legal* release of TESB or even ROTJ? Rumor had it that someone had run a large batch of TESB videodisks (RCA format) for Lucasfilms or 20-cents Fox last spring. Suppossedly these were to be released some time this summer. 'Star Wars -A New Hope' was apparently the biggest selling videodisk to date. Since RCA has stopped making disk players, it would seem anyone wanting to still tap this market would get their disks up for sale before the installed base of players wears out... On the other hand, there was a syndicated story in the local newspaper last winter to the effect that Lucasfilms (or Lucas?) has decided to *never* release TESB or ROTJ to the disk, video cassette, or cable markets. They expect to make more $$$$ over the long term by re-releasing 'em every few years just to the movie theaters, for the next generation of kiddies (and those of us who never grow up)... This is exactly what Disney does with their premier feature-length cartoons (e.g. Snow White). So does anyone have reliable information on what the status of these 2 films is? Where can we obtain a printout of Lucasfilms' battleplans??

Usually accurate sources suggest later this year for TESB on LV.
