I am considering purchasing a printer for my Commodore 64. I want to be able to use the printer for word processing and program listings primarily but would like to use in conjunction with my modem. I would like to daisy chain it with my disk drive so all of my I/O ports would be free. I have seen printer interfaces advertized for about 119.00 that will allow standard parallel interface printers to be connected to the serial port with the disk drives. The Commodore 1525 printer connects this way and has most of the features I am looking for but, it doesn't have a Top of Form function that can be performed at the press of a button. I am sure that you can do it from software but that would get annoying everytime you wanted to set you paper adjustment or start another print. I am looking for information ( quirks, good attributes, bad attributes and such) about any printers that some of you might be using with the C64 or the Vic 20. I am interested in a broad price range but anything over 800.00 is out of my league. Any information I can get will be helpful when I go to buy. Thanks in advance.
