Sorry to post this to the net, but I could not seem to get
through via UNIX mail.

I dont know if this will make it to you.  I dont use UNIX mail that often.
Anyway in regards to using the C64 as a terminal, I have been having pretty
good results.  I too use the VIC modem.  I dont know of any
existing TERMCAP entry and set the TERM environment variable to dumb.
I havent found any way to get fancy cursor movements yet.  I have found
that certain control sequences can be generated (some via function keys)
that are not documented in the TERM 64 manual.  Some of the weird keys
on the 64 (ie: left arrow, english pound etc.) generate handy UNIX
things like pipe characters and backslashes.  A guy I work with has listed
these things and I can get them for you.

I am also interested in hearing more about this soft-link interface
diskette you mentioned.  I have never heard of it.

If this gets to you let me know.  If I don't hear from you any time
soon I'll try you on the phone again.  (I tried before and I guess
you werent around.
