In the Oct '83 BYTE on p136 there is an ad for MANX Software Systems Aztec C compiler. In the ad they state that a version is available for the C64 for $199. The $199 seems a little steep. I bought my C64 for $199. Has anyone out there bit the bullet and purchased this compiler? If so, is it fast enough for practical uses? How do you like it? Does anyone know if there are other high level languages such as Pascal available for the C64? I'd like something that's faster and more elegant than BASIC. I would like to avoid assembly language as much as possible.
