[net.micro.cbm] magazine for vic and 64 users

For anyone who's new to the 64 or VIC may I recommend a magazine
called "COMPUTE'S GAZETTE" ...... this is a sister publication to
the "COMPUTE" magazine and it is exclusively for 64 and VIC.

A major breakthrough is the use of a proofreader program (listing in
every issue) that will compute the checksum of each line of
code as you copy it from the back of the magazine. You then compare it
to the values shown in the listing and you instantly KNOW that you
have copied the program correctly. This may not sound like a big
deal to all you hackers out there who wouldn't THINK of copying a
program from paper by hand, but my eight year old copied in a computer
game of about 200 complex basic lines with only two mistakes (both
juxtaposition errors). And seeing that program work really gave
him a charge!

I have no connection whatever etc., etc. with the mag .....
