[net.micro.cbm] Homebrew C64 ROMS ??

gwatkin@ittral.UUCP (Jay Gwatkin) (01/31/84)

I've typed a few machine language programs into
my Commodore 64, and have even managed to get my
familiy interested in using the programs (games
mostly). However, I have trouble convincing them
to learn about typing in 'LOAD "FOOBAR",1,1' and then
'SYS 49152', etc. A cartridge version of the
programs would seem to be the solution - just plug
in the cartridge and turn on the machine.

Does anyone know the rules for putting a program
into a ROM cartridge on the C64? What are the
hardware and software requirements to cause the
ROM to start executing upon power up? Commodore
provides good instructions for doing this with the
VIC-20, but I can't find the corresponding info
for the 64.
