I am looking for a set of programs to allow me to upload/download files from my c64 to UNIX. My wife wont let me spend any more money for a printer, so I would like to be able to upload my programs to UNIX and then send them to the line printer. If possible, I would also like to be able to use the editors on UNIX and then download the programs back to disk on my 64. Either post answers to the net as I am sure others would be interested also, or send mail directly to me. Jim, when you find out anything please let me know. I have a VIC20 and would like to have the same capability. One of the things I would like is to be able to store the large data set I need to use for my speech synthesis programs on the main-frame disk. Ed Kufeldt ihuxn!ejk47

Then, you can write a short (<30 lines) Basic program which will talk to the RS232 port, perform CBM's ASCII to real ASCII translation, and copy the files from disk to the RS232. This is the easiest way to go if you don't want to shell out $$$$ for a printer. A. Ray Miller Univ Illinois

As a rule-of-thumb: (1) Obtain a printer BEFORE you get married; and (2) Obtain SECOND disk drive before FIRST child comes along!!!!!!!!!!!! Schneids ssc-vax!schneids
