Haa , C-64 , eh? Well I have one , too. My first (and so far the only) reason to bye one was the all too familiar cash flow problem of a student. You know , the one cash flow problem that can not be solved by IBM's PC , or by any of the seven clones. And I don't think too much of the software available either. But now I have it , and I would like to take full advantage of it. If somebody has a TERMCAP with cursor movements for C-64 I would be happy to hear from him. I am using HesWares 64-T program (40 columns and no download!). I wouldn't be too surprised if it turns out that it's not possible to define cursor motions for Crappadore-64, but if it is , please let me know. Asko (Looser are people too ...)

( ... gee , gosh , golly) I don't think that it is considered polite to ask (hope?) for reply mail and then forget to give the mail-address ... Sorry about that !. So , if you have TERMCAP for C-64 , and you could share it with me , please do so ... Asko (Magnetic noise from Finland ...) ... dartvax!dalcs!y7159

:~(> Asko, by the tone of your query you sound like the loser you refer to youself as. If the software aspects of the C-64 don't suit you then why not right your own. I admit the VIC-20 & the C-64 does not have some of the features the "big-buck" ones do. You don't have the control over the hardware, but you can fix the software, (If you would try). If you would stop griping long enough, and then sit down with your C-64 and really learn how to use it, I'm sure that any problems your having could be ironed out. If you are really fed-up with your C-64, I would be more than happy to take it off your hands. I'm trying to step up from the VIC-20. Note, to you the VIC-20 is probably just a toy, but to me the VIC-20 can do anything I can program it to do (Within reason). As to your TERMCAP problem, that was answered on the net by A. Ray Miller. A possible source for ideas on a terminal control program is COMPUTE's January 1983 issue. It has an article on a terminal program for the ATARI's. Although, this is not directly compatible with the VIC some of the ideas are. I was able to modify this program to run on my VIC-20. It has upload/download capability and I'm in the process of writing a menu routine for it. So, Asko keep plugging away. Ed Kufeldt :~}
