Commodore itself markets an RS-232 interface that installs in the user port; costs on the order of $40, and I have happily used it for 6 months or so at 1200bd both on a modem and via a null modem connector to a local machine. The device does NOT come with a terminal emulation program, but there are a few of those in the public domain. Note that the Basic interpreter can't keep up at 1200 -- you need a machine language emulator for that. =Ned=
