Several of my colleagues and I have taken on the cooling problem by mounting AC muffin fans on top of our disk drives (drawing the heat out of the drive). It's a lot easier to lay the fan on top of the drive and use 110VAC rather than mount the fan inside the unit and eliminate all hope of ever sending the unit out for repair, if necessary. The only problem with using a fan of any type, no matter how you mount it, is that you tend to draw dust into the unit and over your diskettes. Nevertheless, a fan is the best solution short of keeping the covers off the drive. Jack Weintraub Bunker Ramo Information x z z Trumbull, CT.
