Re: The Mitey-Mo modem for C64.
I recently purchased a new modem, called the Mitey-Mo for the C64. I figured
that since it was an auto-dial modem, it would fit the shoes of the 1650,
which is almost impossible to find now. Although the modem comes with working
software, the modem won't work with any
other software packages (eg: Vidtex). Has anyone figured this modem out? It
appears to be using 3-line handshaking but OPEN's with a secondary address of
3, which is supposedly unused by the RS-232 routines. Also, it sets up the DDR
to use bits 1, 2 & 5 for output and it also sets $DD01 to #$26, thus setting
the non-implemented 'pin j' (among others). I've made a few attempts at
figuring out the software (it's protected) but still no go.
I would appreciate any assistance if anyone has figured this thing out, and I
know I'm not the only one with this problem!
