x Most of the Amiga "rumor" described in tymix.329 is true, at least as far as can be determined from news reports. Amiga had made a deal to supply Atari with key graphics chips. However, Amiga refunded Atari's investment shortly before Warner sold Atari to Tramiel. The deal would have given Atari exclusive rights to the chips except if and when Amiga wanted to use them. Tramiel, no dummy, launched the suit against Amiga in hopes of recovering the exclusive rights to the chips. Even if he were able to do that, however, it still would not stop Commodore from using the chips, because now Amiga is a part of Commodore. Also, Tramiel's case is weakened by the refund that Amiga made before he bought Atari. Finally, there is a rumor that the contract between Atari and Amiga contained a clause that would void the agreement if Atari should be sold to another owner. That last bit, I'm not sure of.
