Well, I got a chip set to install the buffer in the MW-350. Of course, the owner's manual doesn't tell you what to use. Two of the chips are obvious: 2K X 8 static rams (I used 6116s - there's a 65C02 on the board). The third chip, I found out after calling Lakewood (Col.), is a 74LS10. I can now report that after installing the buffer, the combination whizzes right along at printing Music Construction Set output. I also discovered that it is easy to jumper pins 18 and 35 with a piece of telephone wire at the back of the ribbon cable connector, enabling the interface to draw power from the printer. So now I can report complete satisfaction with the product. -- ______ Russ Herman / \ {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!aesat!rwh @( ? ? )@ ( || ) The opinions above are strictly personal, and ( \__/ ) do not reflect those of my employer (or even \____/ possibly myself an hour from now.)
