[net.micro.cbm] Keyboards for Handicapped Needed

abc@brl-tgr.ARPA (Brint Cooper ) (12/17/84)

I am helping someone whose niece, age 6, is a victim of cerebral palsey
and who has shown interest in having a small computer. For financial
reasons, we are looking at the popular 8-bit machines for which a broad
software base exists (Apple, C64, Atari).

Apparently, the child has severe fine motor impairment; she cannot write
and probably has little dexterity with her fingers.

Therefore, we are looking for microcomputer add-on keyboards made for
such folks. Please keep in mind that the "keyboard" has to be
interfaced to the computer and we'd prefer not to have an R&D project as
the aunt, the niece, and I are on west coast, central US, and east
coast, respectively.

Please mail or post replies to net.

Thanks,

Brint
