My C64 version III is sick. It boots as far as the forground/background colors, but nevers gets to the commodore banner/ready state. It has been traced to the PLA chip (#1 suspect at least). Has anyone ever bought a PLA from commodore? Is this possible? The only possibility that I've heard for repair seems to be to send the entire machine to commodore, and for $75 they will send you a new one (what a deal, huh?). As you might have guessed, it is out of warrenty. All suggestions and relevant experiences are welcome. thanks in advance.. ihnp4!uiucdcs!uiucuxc!ajc
