[net.micro.cbm] Color monitor & maitaining color purity

I've just purchased a Commodore 1702 color monitor. I'd like to know if it is
safe to place a Commodore MPS-801 printer or a VCR next to the monitor
(on the same shelf, the two item seperated by about 3 to 6 inches).
Can the magnetic fields developed by the motors in these devices cause
purity problems with the 1702 color screen ? Where (in relation to the
1702 monitor) is a good location for a printer or VCR, so as not to
run the risk of damaging or affecting the 1702's color purity ?

Thanx very much !!!!

As a general rule never put anything magnetic right on the monitor but if it
is 6 inches away then you will have no problem. As a test take a phone and
hold it up to the monitor -- see how close you get before you start seeing
yellow and pink spots.

But as a rule try to keep things with magnets away from the monitor just
to be safe but there should be no worry of permenant damage.
