From: zhang (Zhang Yuan-Kai) Hi, everybody. I'm a new comer to this news group, but I've found it is a very active one. I bought a Commodore 64 just yesterday at Montgomery local shop, but I found it should be much cheaper than I payed for $189. Is it true that Commodore 128 is coming out at the same price as C64? Did the company announce 25% off for C64? If it is true, I'll either refund it or ask for a lower price. I payed the disk drive for $249, and MPS801 for $149. Is it a good buy? I'm a litter bit blind. Thanks for any advice. zhang@cornell

In today's Los Angeles Times, Toys R Us advertised their new 'everyday' prices. C64 for $150, 1541 drive for $200, color monitor for $210, and Plus4 for $200. Don Gentner

Last week's New York Times said that Commodore, citing sharply decreased sales, will be lowering the wholesale price of the Commodore 64. This should drop the suggested retail price to around $150, with discounters getting slightly less. As for $249 for the 1541 disk drive, GIVE IT BACK! I called Harmony a while back to get a price on a printer. They told me the price quoted in their ad was for cash, amd that if I wanted to use a credit card it would cost me more.
