The April 1985 Compute!'s Gazette (Feedback p.16) revealed that Radio Shack ribbon #26-1424 for the DMP-100 printer fit the VIC 1525 printer. Since my ribbon was over a year old and no longer produced real crisp, black printing, I rushed to my local Radio Shack and bought one. Sure enough, it seemed to be identical to the old one that came with the printer and it fit just fine, but the print was actually LIGHTER than the old ribbon. It this a fluke or are these DMP ribbons just inked less? Pixellite Computer Products (2000 Center St, Suite 100-1345, Berkeley, CA 94704, 415/527-6400) advertises 1525 ribbons in black, red, green, blue, purple and brown (for use with The Print Shop (tm)). They claim they are "precisely inked to provide clear, crisp printing and trouble-free operation for every impression, ribbon after ribbon." Can anyone report on experiences with Pixellite's ribbons?
