[net.micro.cbm] More on the Commodore 128

wanttaja@ssc-vax.UUCP (Ronald J Wanttaja) (05/01/85)

I was able to ask my buddy with the 128 some more questions, to answer some
items of mail I received (sorry, I had already scratched the mail).

1. In the 128 mode, some pokes are the same as the '64 mode, and some
different. The SID chip is one of those that is the same... a '64 program
using the SID should work in the 128 mode.

2. Program listings do not scroll in the 128 mode, like SYSRES works on
the 64. However, my buddy, who is well familiar with SYSRES, says the 128
mode is so good otherwise, SYSRES is not needed. Maybe someone will come
out with a scroll utility, once the 128 has been out for a while.

The day after I posted the original review, the June issue of Compute's
Gazette came out, with a substantial review of the 128. Get this issue for
more detailed information.
