[net.micro.cbm] 1520 Plotter

jrg@hpda.UUCP (Jeff Glasson) (05/02/85)

I have just purchased a 1520 plotter for $49 at Toys R Us.

I am trying to write some PROMAL functions to control the plotter.
The problem I am having is that when I try to either change the character
size or the pen color, the color always goes to black and the character size
is always set to 80 chars per line.

I have even tried to write the low-level I/O routines in assembly in case
PROMAL does something wierd. The results are the same.

I can print a file on the plotter just fine otherwise (I has to write a
little ASCII to PETSCII program since PROMAL deals in real ASCII).

The plotter works fine from BASIC (yuk!). My question is: Does BASIC do
anything special with strings printed using PRINT# ?
