Anyone know how to determine the operability of a VICmodem 1600? A month
ago a friend gave me what I thought was a bad modem - I took it to
Commodore, and convinced them to exchange it (in spite of the fact that
they claimed nothing was wrong with it). The one they gave me worked fine
for awhile, but all of a sudden, the terminal program I use won't work
any longer. Is there any software diagnostic technique for those things?
Hardware? Do they have some particular Achilles heel? I have a real terminal
and 300/1200 baud modem as well - can they be connected back-to-back in some
fashion? Any help appreciated, as I'm not particularly an electronics whiz.
