[net.micro.cbm] Cartidge woes

mccauley@h-sc1.UUCP (john mccauley) (08/07/85)

Hi,
The contacts on my c64's Cartridge expansion slot are no longer
making reliable contact with my plug-in cartridges. For a while, tilting
the cartridge up about 5 deg and keeping it there worked, but now
that fails to work. Has anyone had similar problems? How easy is it
to replace the connecter? How much would it cost to have it fixed?
Please mail me and if there is enough interest I will summarize
the responses.

Thanks,

John Scott McCauley Jr.

Sometimes the pin edge connector will become dirty. You can clean it by rubbing

a pencil eraser over the pins until they look shiny. You might want to try this

before replacing the connector.
