--------- The Amiga is about the first PC I ever seriously considered buying. Up to now I preferred sticking to my homemade, 5 year old, 68000 stuff. Unfortunately any new US computer equipment somehow has the tendency to stop at the east coast for a while before risking the hop over to Europe. As I live in Switzerland I'm particularly bothered. What I'm looking for : _ Serious technical info. _ European availability info. _ Warranty info ( US or world wide ? ) ( ... if bought in US, who in Europe would do warranty service ... ) What I would be glad to receive : _ Any comment on the above topics. _ Addresses ( e-mail or normal-mail ) of Commodore Offices in the US or Europe where I could ask for such info. _ Address of the European Commodore representative, headquarter or whatever is appropriate. _ Info about the warranty on the Amiga. What does it say ? Is there a mention like "in the United States" or "world wide"? _ What does open system mean ? Is there enough documentation so one can build own expansion cards ? And how deep can one fiddle around in the OS ( device drivers ... ) ? I really would appreciate if someone would take the time to answer any of the above questions. Please either post to the news or send me mail. --------- Horst von Eicken ...!seismo!mcvax!cernvax!tve DD-Division ...!seismo!mcvax!cernvax!hve CERN CH-1211 Geneva 23 Switzerland ---------
