I've just purchased some new accessories for the old C64, and have some questions for you experts out there about how they work. First, I've got 1541 Flash. This seems to be a great product, all right. So far, it's compatible with almost everything. Unfortunately, the thing it isn't compatible with is the one I was most looking forward to using it with: C64 CP/M. It has all of the symptoms of an interrupt conflict of some sort: the CP/M will boot (at a glorious speed), run for a period of time that can vary from seconds to as much as 15 minutes, then die during a disk access. I suspect an interrupt processing problem mostly because I had a similar problem with a CP/M program I wrote that was calling some 6502 subroutines--it would usually work, but periodically would get caught by the jiffy clock interrupts or some such. Has anyone had any experience with this or even any suggestions (other than giving up? (by the way, CP/M still works with Flash switched off) Second, the Toys R Us that recently opened in Durham is selling the Batteries Included B80 80-column board for $24.95, so I couldn't resist getting one. It comes with absolutely minimal documentation, to say the least. Has anyone had experience directly manipulating the 6x45 CRTC that apparently is in the thing? It would certainly be possible if one knew where the chips registers end up in the memory map. Is it possible to access the display's memory map directly? Are there any (preferably public domain) terminal emulators that use this board? Anyway, Thanks In Advance for any help/advice. Ross Alford ...{ihnp4, decvax, akgua}!mcnc!ecsvax!alford
