According to the Commodore 64 Reference, the RS232 can handle anything up to 1200 baud, and anything faster is not implemented. According to COMPUTE!'s Mapping the 64 (a VERY handy book!!) it can go up to 2400 (it says that presumably the machine wouldn't be able to keep up with the speed). Which is the highest implemented, 1200 or 2400 ?? -- Mark Wutka Office of Computing Services Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta, Ga. ...!{akgua,allegra,amd,hplabs,ihnp4,masscomp,ut-ngp}!gatech!gitpyr!wutka ...!{rlgvax,sb1,uf-cgrl,unmvax,ut-sally}!gatech!gitpyr!wutka Official member of NERDS (NERDS Existing in a Recursively Defined System)

In net.micro.cbm someone posted an article that they were using a 2400 baud modem with the C64. I can't remember who said it, anyone? The topic was something to do with having troubles with using 1200 baud and the C64 dropping chars for some people...someone mentioned they test it with a 2400 baud modem and it worked fine. Perhaps this will jog someone's memory. David A. Roth ...decvax!pur-ee!isrnix!pugsly ...ihnp4!isrnix!pugsly Indianapolis,IN
