[net.micro.cbm] Non-volatile Memory for C64

sbp@panda.UUCP (Brown Pulliam) (12/12/85)

TWO NEW CARTRIDGE STORAGE DEVICES FOR THE COMMODORE 64

Two new non-volatile storage devices for the C64 or C128
(in C64 mode) have been announced recently. They are both 8K
battery backed up RAM cartridges that plug into the Expansion
Port.
They can be used as a non-volatile memory area for program-
ming, as a storage device for utility programs or games to be
immediately available on power-up, to revise the Commodore (R)
start-up routines, or any combination of the above. Both
are shipped with some utilities already loaded.

One cartridge is called the KEEPER and, according to a
new product note in RUN magazine, costs $49.95 and is available
from:

		MARVCO ELECTRONICS
		15072 S. NEIBUR RD.
		OREGON CITY, OR. 97405

The other cartridge is called the QUICK BROWN BOX, costs
$39.00 plus $3.00 mailing and handling (Massachusetts residents
also add $1.95 sales tax) and is available from:

BROWN BOXES INC.	Phone 617-275-0090 or
		26 CONCORD RD. 862-3675
		BEDFORD, MA. 01730

The circuit of the QUICK BROWN BOX and the utilities included
therein have been placed in the Public Domain, so for those who
might wish to build their own, a documentation package is available
for $4.00 postpaid.

As the designer of the QUICK BROWN BOX, and as an owner of
Brown Boxes Inc. I am not dis-interested, so the usual disclaimer
does not apply, though my soon to be ex-employer (by way of
early retirement) GENRAD makes no endorsement of any of this.

Anyone wishing more information, DO NOT USE NET MAIL, as
I will not have access to the network. Use above address or
phone.

     I've enjoyed your company.
